James May on track for miniature train win against the Germans
James May takes on German train enthusiasts Gerrit Braun and half-brother Sebastian Drechsler, from the Miniatur Wunderland model railway attraction, Hamburg, in a miniature train race along the Tarka Trail from Barnstaple to Bideford at the weekend with his friend Oz Clarke. The spin-off show to the BBC2 series, James May's Toy Stories, saw the teams race three model trains along nine miles of track between the towns' stations.Photo by North Devon PR photographer Guy Harrop

Top Gear's James May helps Chemo Appeal in Barnstaple
Top Gear's James May helps Charlotte Overney cancer nurse specialist raise funds for the new Chemotherapy appeal at North Devon District Hospital. The £2.2 million appeal for the purpose built chemotherapy unit has already raised over £400k in pledges and donations. . Said James, " It is a great campaign and I am happy to support it". James is in North Devon filming James May's Toy Stories: The Great Train Race, which will see 2 teams racing three trains along a 9.1-mile section of track between Barnstaple and Bideford.

A pub in North Devon has found a novel way of advertising it's Royal Wedding party by putting a picture of Wills and Kate behind a trotter alternative robin reliant. Landlady Jane Pearce, of The Wrey Arms in Barnstaple, who remembers the Queen's Silver Jubilee is hoping to replicate that same sense of family community with their alternative Royal Party on Friday April 29th.
